昨日 勉強した表現は?

 

Well, I would rather have coffee. (茶 しますか?) むしろ、コーヒーにしたいです.

( ...よりは むしろ....をしたい I would prefer to... )

 

(一緒に行く?) むしろ 一人で行きたいです : I would prefer to go alone.

   ここで, rather は日本語の むしろ で, would rather + (動詞原形)....

   は, ...（よりは）むしろ...したい. の意味だと昨日勉強しました!

 

   で,  ...（よりは）むしろ...方が好き. と意味を持つ動詞がありますが、それが prefer です.

　動詞 prefer は ....(よりは）(むしろ) ....するのが好きです の意味で, 何かを選択する時に,

   ...方がより好きです  の意味です. そして, prefer to stay.. ように, to と一緒に使います,

　それで、 

 

   I would rather stay home.  私は(外出するよりは) (むしろ) 家にいたい. この表現は,

 

= I would prefer to stay home. 私は (外出するよりは) (むしろ) 家にいたい.

                                      私は一緒に行ってほしい, 或いは む しろ一人で行きたい?
