Good morning all,

" Will it be all right if I use your mobile phone?"
" By all means. Let's see..... There it is. It's in the right-
hand corner, next to the TV set."

Words,Phrases & Patterns
> by all means ; ぜひどうぞ, = of course. = certainly
> right-hand ; 右側の。。, left-hand 左側の。。
> next to ; 。。

use(借りて使う) を 使って Can I use your phone?

a. Can I use your mobile phone? )
b. Will it be all right if I use your mobile phone? )
c. Can I borrow some money from you? )
d. She borrowed $200 from her parents

Have a nice day today with a smile !!!

ここで instead of.....

even though と even if の使い分けは ?

Good morning all,

                         Yes, You  Can!

Even though he hates studying and skips virtually
every lecture, he is unwilling to quit school, simply
because he prefers school to work.

ここで even though ....  。。。
even if.... 。。

Even though
Even if は あくまでも ( If = 仮定 )を 述べている

( Even if ...)

a. Even though he hates studying、 ( 彼が勉強が大嫌い(事実)にも関わらず、 )
b. Even if he hates studying、  ( たとえ 彼が 勉強が 大嫌いかもしれないが(仮定)  )

a falling leaf  ( 今落ちている木の葉 ->  まだ地面には落ちてない )
a fallen leaf   ( 落ちた木の葉 -> すでに地面まで落ち終わった )

Good morning all,

' Todays' English from Tokyo'

*******    No challenge, No change!    *******
*******             Yes, you can!            *******

2.5 multiplied by 4 equlas 10

1 7 divided by 3 is 2 with a remainder of one
2 5 plus 2 is seven  5 + 2 = 7

You have a good day today!

Seq 187 ( unit 11 分詞 ) : lesson 15 < 2.5 x 4 = 10 >

Here are examples of arithmetic calculations:
Two point five multiplexed by four equals ten;
seven divided by three is two with a remainder of one.

2.5 掛ける 4は 10;

7 divided by 3 is 2 with a remainder of one   / 過去分詞 divided が 7を後ろから修飾している

= 2 multiplied by 4 equals 8
= 2 multiplied by 4 makes 8

30 divided by 6 is 5     30 が 6 で 割られると 5
8 divided by 4 makes 2  8

( 2 + 5 = 7 )  /  2 plus five is seven   2に 5をplusすると, 7

7 minus three is four   ( 7 - 3 = 4 )  / 7
= 7 minus 3 leaves 4
