09/Jan/26/Mon Today's English (=?ISO-2022-JP?B?GyRCJSolUCVeGyhCIA==?= 大統領就任演説中 part4/4 - 最後の部分)

Good morning all,

Monday! - Today is Chinese New Year (lunar new year) in Korea and China!

" Happy New Year to you all in Korea and China! "

It is sunny and blue sky this morning with the morning lows of
2 degrees and daytime highs of 11 degrees here in Tokyo.

Here is Today's English

Seq 66 : In the Obama's inauguration speech

so let us mark this day with remembrance, of who we are and how far we have traveled.
In the year of America's birth, in the coldest of months, a small band of patriots huddled by
dying campfires on the shores of an icy river. The capital was abandoned. The enemy was
advancing. The snow was stained with blood. At a moment when the outcome of our revolution
was most in doubt, the father of our nation ordered these words be read to the people:

" Let it be told to the future world...that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue
could survive....that the city and the country, alarmed at one comman danger, came forth to meet it"

America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember
these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure
what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we
refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back not did we falter; and with eyes fixed
on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered
it safely to future generations.

Thank you, God bless you, God bless the United States of America.

日本語で;

例えば;
(a) That great gift of freedom, we delivered it safely to future generations.

Have a great day today!

09/Jan/23/Fri Today's English ( オバマ大統領就任演説 - 新しい時代への責任 - 3/4)

Good morning all,

TGIF! - How many hours will you spare for your english study during the weekend?

It has been rainy all day long yesterday and it is still rainy this morning
but the weather man says it will be getting better from this afternoon.
It is 7.1 degrees this morning and it will be about 16 degrees during the
daytime today here in Tokyo.

Here is Today's English

Seq 65 : In the Obama's inauguration speech

" Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new.
But those values upon which our success depends - honesty and hard work, courage and
fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - thsee things are old. These things
are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history.
What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era
of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves,
our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm
in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character,
than giving our all to a difficult task."

日本語で;

09/Jan/20/Tue Today's English ( 数量形容詞 every, all )

Good morning all,

Tuesday - Let's start today by saying ' Year 2009, I have a dream '.

Yesterday during the daytime it was 15 degrees, which was abnormally higher than
the average daytime temperature of Tokyo during the winter season which is
about 10 degrees. Today daytime highs will be about 10 degrees and it is about
5 degrees this moring and it is sunny.

Here is Today's English

Seq 62 ( unit 4 ) : lesson 11 ( 数量形容詞 all, every)

1. Every boy likes it.
2. All boys like it.
3. Every man desires to live long.
4. All men are equal.

5. I wish you every success.
6. He lost all his money.

Words,Phrases & Patterns
> lost ; lose(負ける,失う、紛失する)の 過去分詞

1. all, every

2. all, every

4. all, every

日本語で;

(a) Every student loves their school.
(b) All students love their school.

Have a great day today!

" Be alert! It's a matter of life and death.
A moment's hesitation will cost you your life."
--- The grim-faced sergeant commanded in a voice of wrath, ---
