電車は定刻に到着します : The train will arrive on time.

 

-> 今日は on time を in timeと比べて勉強してみましょう. on time は

　　定刻通り, (到着/出発) 時間通り の意味です.一方, in time は 間に合う,
　　（遅れていない）の意味でよく使います.

 

     The train will come on time.  電車は 定刻に (到着/出発時間通りに) 来ます.

 

      We will be there in time.  我々はあそこに間にあって到着します.

 

-> '約束の時間に' 間に合うの意味では in time をよく使う, 定刻通り,

    (出発/到着/約束) '時間通り' との意味では on time をよく使います.
