今日は ' It is ..... that ~~ ' を強調構文で使う場合を勉強しましょう！

 

' It is .....that ~~ ' の it is..... 部分に強調したい名詞や副詞を入れて '...なのは  ....だ'と

...部分を強調することを '強調構文' と言います. 以下の例文を通じて,理解してみてください.

 

Tom  visited  John  on Monday   (Tomは月曜日にＪohnを訪れた)

 

a) Tom を強調したい場合;

 

It was Tom that visited John on Monday.  ( Johnを月曜日に訪れたのは Tom だ )

 

b) John を強調したい場合;

 

It was John that Tom visited on Monday.  ( Tomが月曜日に訪問した人は John だ )

 

c) on Monday を強調したい場合;

 

It was on Monday that Tom visited John.  ( Tomが Johnを訪問したのは月曜日だ )

  

説明> that 節が '現在形'であれば, it is... であり, '過去形'であれば, It was....になります.
