今日は "....の物" と 所有を 表す 所有代名詞に ついて 勉強します.
1. 所有代名詞は "所有格 人称代名詞 + 名詞" と 同じ意味
上の 例文で
my monfiltered= mine
your house = yours (あなたの物)
our house = hours
his dog = his
her style = hers
these books = yours (あなた達の物)
2. yours は "あなたの" (単数), " あなた達の物 " (複数)で 同じであることを 覚えてください.
文章の中の意味をみて 判断します。
3. his は 所有格(かれの....) と 所有代名詞 (彼の物) 同じなので 注意してください.
4. 注意; 所有格前に 冠詞 付けないことと同じく, 所有代名詞 にも 冠詞 付けない.
This is a cellphone (OK)
This is my cellphone (OK)
This is mine (mine = my cellphone) (OK)
This is a mine ( not OK ; a,mine 一緒に使わない )
5. yours (あなた達の物, theirs (彼達の物) は "複数"である。
日本語で;
" あなたの物は 斬新な ideaだ" を 英語で言いたい時は?
" かれの物は すばらしい 家だ " を 英語で 言いたい時は?
( あなたの物 = yours, 彼の物 = his )
例えば;
(a) Yours is a novel idea. ( = Your idea is novel )
(b) His is a nice house. ( His house is nice )
