[ 3) "東京の 気候は Seoulの それ(気候)より 温和だ" を 英語で " The climate of Tokyo is minder
than that of Seoul ] - すでに出た the climateを指す 代名詞. ( 今日勉強 ) ] - 代名詞
[ 4) " そんなに 沢山たべるな " を 英語で " Don't eat that much " ] - 副詞として

[ 5) "あなたは正しいと信じます " を 英語で " I believe that you are right " ] - 接続詞
[ 1)は 形容詞として, 2)は よく知っている指示代名詞( あそこに離れている物を 指す,
3)は すでに出た 名詞( the + 名詞 )代わりに 使われる 代名詞, 4)は 副詞として,
5) よく知っている 接続詞として ]
[ 今日は このthatの 5つ使い方の中、3）番目を 勉強します ]
[ 先週 "既に出た 名詞を 指す 代名詞として" one, it を 勉強しました ]
[ one は 何でも かまわない ある 一つ ( a + 単数名詞 ) を 代わりに, it は 特定な 物
( the + 単数名詞 ) 代わりに 使われると 学びました ]
[では, that も 既に 出た 特定な ( the + 名詞 ) を 指しますが, it とは 何が 異なる? ]
[ that は that の後ろに 必ず 形容詞句(節)が 来ます ]
[ 例えば, The climate of Tokyo is milder than that of Seoul ;
ここで that 後ろの..of Seoul の 形容詞句が that を 限定している事が it と 異なる点 です ]
[ 次の例文で one, it, that の 差異を もう一度 確認しましょう ]
A: Do you have a watch?
B : No, but my brother has one. ( onfiltered= a watch )
B : He bought it yesterday. ( it = the watch )
The capital of your country is larger than that of mine. ( that = the capital ) ( ...of mine 形容詞句)
[前で既に出た 名詞 代わりに使う one, it, that の 差異を よく理解しでください - とても よく使われます ]

[ 既に出た "the + 単数名詞" を 指す 代名詞 that ]
( 複数形は those を 使います )
1. The average temperature in Busan is higher than that in Seoul. (... in Seoul が 形容詞句)
2. The capital of your country is larger than that of mine. (... of mine が 形容詞句)
3. The climate of Tokyo is milder than that of Hokkaido. (...of Hokkaido が 形容詞句)
4. The students in the U.S. are so different from those in Japan. ( in Japanが 形容詞句)

Words,Phrases & Patterns
> capital ; (名)[C] 首都

今日は 前で 既に出た 特定な 名詞を指す 代名詞 that を 理解しましょう.
it との 差異を 理解して, 複数形は those を 使います.
1. [ that は " the + 特定名詞 " 代わりに使う]
例文1,2,3,4番では 単数だから that, 後ろに 形容詞句が ある.
例文5番では 前の thatは 単数, 後ろの those は 複数, 後ろに 形容詞限定句がある
例文6番で 単数だから that, 後ろに 形容詞句がある
例文7, 8 番で those which...., those who..... 複数だから those, 後ろの 形容詞節(関係代名詞).
2. [ one, it, that 区別して 使えると, 後で 英語読解, 会話に とても 役に立ちます ]
日本語で; " ここの 気候は Seoulより (Seoulの気候）より 高いです " を 英語ですると?
( " ここの気候 " -> " Seoulの気候 " ; " 気候 " という名詞 を that で 使ってみる )
例えば;
(a) The temperature here is higher than that of Seoul.
