1月 12日. 新鮮な水曜日明けがた. じゃ, 今日も大きい声で言ってみましょうか?

英語 会話, Yes, you can!

 

今週は新年特集2で ' My promise as a Friend (友たちとしての私の約束)'

を 約 6回に分けて紹介します. 悲しい時も, つらい時も相変わらず真実な友たちとして

そばにいることを約束する内容です. 今日はその 3回目です.

My Promise as a Friend (こんな友たちになりたい) (3/6)

 

I promise to stay by my friend even during the exams.

I promise to share my notes, and cheer her to do well on the exam.

I promise to be there whenever my friend needs to talk.

I promise I'll always be there on the other end of the line.

 

試験期間にも友達のそばを守ります。

私のノートを渡しながら試験をしっかり受けろと励まします。

いつも私の友達が話す人を必要とするときには聞いて上げる人になります。

いつでも話を交わせる影法師のような友達になります。

 

< 単語と表現 説明 >

 

* stay by... ; ..そばにいる. byは そばに, たとえば, Stand by me  私のそばに!

* even ; ...（で）さえ、...すら

* exams ; examination (試験), an entrance examination 入学試験

* during the exams ; 試験期間の間

* share ; 共有する

* cheer ; 励ます, 応援する, ここで cheerは 5文型で, ...(人)を 励まして

           ...するようにする, たとえば, cheer a team to victory ティームを励まして
　　　　　勝利するようにする

* do well ; うまくやる

* be there whenever... ; ..する時はいつもそこにいる. ここで be動詞はいる(存在する),
               ある岩 come/go 行く/来るの 意味. 所謂, 必要な時はいつも 行く/来るで

               訳してもOK. より詳しいは下を参考.

* on the other end of the line ; ここで line は 電話を言う. He is on the line 通話中.

 

このチャンスで be 動詞 使い方 完全にmasterする

 

be 動詞は いる(存在), ある岩 come/go/arrive の意味でもよく使う,

 

He is not here yet  彼はまだここにいない (すなわち, まだ来ていない)

 = He has not come here yet 彼はまだここに来ていない.

 

I will be there in 10 mins  10分後にそこにいる ( = 行く, 着く)

 = I will go/arrive there in 10 mins  10 分後にそこに行く/着く

 

  in 10 mins の  in は ...(時間) 後に...  たとえば, in 2 hours  2時間 後に!
