How did you get to know her?
= How did you come to know her?

説明; < get to do....., come to do..> '...
特に, get[come] to know [like] her 彼女を知り合いになる [好きになる]の表現でよく使う.

Seq 150 ( unit 9  to不定詞 ) : lesson 36 < come to know... / get to like... >

[ 今日は 'to不定詞'の 'come to know.., get to like' 表現を理解しましょう! ]

1. 'to不定詞'で, come to know..., get to like...

" I will introduce you to Dan, the elder twin of the two.
He is the town's most eligible bachelor. I'm sure you will
come to like him as you get to know him.

単語説明;
> introduce A to B ; Aと Bに紹介する
( Kate and Pat are twins )
> the 比較級 of the two ; 2つのうちより ..
> I am sure that....
> come to do... するようになる ( become to do..
> get to do...; (待たされた後に, 許可を得て, 努力の末に)...

> ここで, ' You will come to like him' は 'あなたは彼のことが好きになる '. 'you get to know him' は
come to do..., get to do...

' come[get] to know[like] him '

' かれを知っている ' -> I know him
' かれをしるようになる ' -> I get to know him [ I come to know him ]

' かれのことは好きだ ' -> I like her
' かれのことが好きになる ' -> I get to like her [ I come to like her ]

How did you come to know her?
How did you get to know her?

I am sure you will come to like her
I am sure you will get to like her

追加説明;

They will soon get to know each other.
They will soon come to know each other.

They will soon get to like each other.
They will soon come to like each other

太郎 will get to like 花子

太郎 realized that he loves 花子
太郎 got to realize that he loves 花子

[ 皆さん, to不定詞で, get to like , come to know. ]

The traveller dozed off on a bench in the tranquil square.
After a while, he work up to find that his luggage had vanashed without a trace

[ ...., never to do...

参考, この表現は普通 , never to do...前にこま ( , )を おきます; ....., never to do.....
[ ..., only to do....

We ran to the store, only to find it closed.

この表現も 普通 , only to do....前に ( , )をおきます; ....., only to do.....

1) to不定詞が '結果'を表す表現は, 主に to find, to learn, to discover, to seeで, '...

になる( grew up to become..., to be... 才まで生きる ( live to be....)

3) ..., never to do....
4) ...., only to do....

'wake up to find that .....'
'come home to find that...
'grow up to become...'

Good morning all,

'Today's English from Tokyo'

***********>    I have a dream!    <*************

This problem is easy to solve.
= To solve this problem is easy

解することが to solve.  to不定詞 ' to solve'が形容詞

1 My boss is difficult to please.
例文2 My girlfriend is hard to get along with.

You have a great day today!

Seq 145 ( unit 9  to不定詞 ) : lesson 31 <副詞用法> ; '難易形容詞 + to do'

A: " He is my boss. He is easy to offend and impossible to please.
He is rather difficult to get along with, to say the least,"

B: " A good boss is hard to come by. "

答え> ここで,  'easy to offend , impossible to please, difficult to get along with, hard to come by'
よくみると, offend, please が他動詞で, get along with, come by は前置詞で終わっているため,
offendの目的語は he ( = boss ), come by の目的語は a good boss です.

easy, difficult, hard, impossible

This problem is easy to solve.
This problem is difficult to solve.
This problem is hard to solve.
This problem is impossible to solve.

To solve this problem is easy.
To solve this problem is difficult.
To solve this problem is hard.
To solve this problem is impossible.

( この表現を < it is + 形容詞 + for.... to do...> 文章で表現すると)

It is easy for me to solve this problem
It is difficult for me to solve this problem
It is hard for me to solve this problem
it is impossible for me to solve this problem

It is easy for her to solve this problem
It is difficult for her to solve this problem
It is hard for her to solve this problem
it is impossible for her to solve this problem

追加説明;

He is able to speak English  / speakの目的語が English
I am always willing to undertake the job  / undertakeの目的語が the job

< it is ...for ... to do...> です. '人物評価形容詞の場合は' < it is ...of ..to do.. >

It is possible to see M.Fuji on a clear day
It is necessary for you to have a operation
It is kind of you to help me

4) 難易形容詞も ' it is....to do...'

It is easy to offend him = He is easy to offend
It is difficult to get along with her = She is difficult to get along with
It is impossible to please my boss = My boss is impossible to please

My boss is easy to please     -> To please my boss is easy
My boss is difficult to please   -> To please my boss is difficult
My boss is hard to please      -> To please my boss is hard
My boss is impossible to        -> To please my boss is impposible

She is hard to please
She is easy to get along with 付き合うことは易しい
She is easy to talk with 一緒に話すことが易しい
