worth は 叙述用法 だけに 使う形容詞, 限定用法は worthy を 使います.

1. '動名詞' を 使う次の熟語、知っていましたか?
[ be worth ..ing .. ; ...する価値がある ]

説明> 今日は 単語 ' worth 'について詳しく勉強しましょうか.
worthは 形容詞としては '...の価値がある'. 名詞としては '価値' です.
一つ勉強するものは worth は 形容詞として使う時は, '叙述 用法'だけに使うことです.
即ち, be 動詞の後ろで '...の価値がある' , 動名詞を用いて '...する価値がある'
と使います.
一方, 形容詞が 名詞の前で 名詞を 修飾することを '限定用法'といいます.
worthy が '限定用法'に使われます, worthyが 叙述用法的に使われる時は ....worthy of ...
で 使います.
易しく説明するため、 'beautiful' という形容詞が '叙述 用法'で使われる場合と '限定用法'で
使われる場合を比較してみましょう?

She is a beautiful lady. 彼女は 美しい女性 だ / 限定用法 (名詞の前で名詞を修飾)
ですので, 'beautiful' という形容詞が
' ..は 美しい ' と使う時は '叙述用法' で使われたという,
' 美しい .....' と使う時は ' 限定用法' で使われたという.
be worth -> ...は ...の価値がある ' 叙述用法 'がけに使う,
worthy 名詞 -> 価値ある ..... ' 限定用法 'で使う.
be worthy of ... -> ..するのに足する, ..する価値がある ( ...worthy of ..)
[ be worth + 名詞[動名詞].... ; ..の価値がある
