[ 今日は 副詞としての either, neither の 用法を 勉強しましょう ]
[ either, neither は 形容詞,代名詞, 副詞 ３つで 使われます.]
[ 今日は この 3つの 用法の中で either の "副詞用法" に ついて 説明します ]
[ either, neither を 勉強する上で 一番 重要な事は either, neither は 本来 "二つの内 どちら",
"２つの内 一つ" を 表す単語であるのことです ]
[ either ]
副詞 : (否定文の後ろで) ....も また... ない. You don't like eggs. I don't like, either.
形容詞 : (二つの中) どちら一つ. Sit either side.
代名詞 : (肯定文で) (２つの内 どちら一つ) Either of you is right.
代名詞 : (否定文で) (２つの中でどちらも..ではない) I don't know either. ( = I know neither. )
(参考); not...either = neither.
[ neither ]
副詞 : (否定文うしろで) ....も また...ない. I don't smoke, and neither do I drink.
形容詞 : (２つの内) どちらも... ない. I like neither book. ( = I don't like either book )
代名詞 : (２つの内) どちらも ...ない. Neither of the books is good.
今日勉強のPoint (a) : not .....either ; .....も また ...ではない.
(a) 否定文後ろで ; not....either ;
A ; I don't like eggs.
B1 ; I do not like, either. ( = I like neither ) ( = Neither do I )
not ...either = neither.
A ; I don't smoke.
B ; I don't smoke, either. ( = Neither do I )
(肯定文の後ろでは too を 用います )
A ; I like eggs.
B ; I like eggs, too. ( = So do I ) ( = me too )
[ 皆さん, " きみは その映画 好き. 私も 好きです " と いう時 I like that movie, too と tooを 用います.
" きみ その 映画 好きではない.. 私も好きではない" と する時は I don't like, either. と
either を用います. つまり, 肯定文では too を 用い, 否定文では either を 用います.
either が このように 使われることを, 副詞用法と言います. そして, not either = neither も
覚えてください..]

1A ; I don't like that movie.
1B ; I don't like, either. ( I like neither )
