It is a bit cloudy but good weather this morning here in Tokyo.
Nowadays it is not so cold with the temperature of 10 degrees
this morning and about 12 degrees during daytime.

Seq 54 ( unit 4 ) : lessons 3 不可算 数える方法
1. My friend gave me two english books for my english study.
2. My friend gave me a piece of advice about purchasing land.
3. My friend gave me two pieces of advice about how to study english.
4. Could we have more cups of coffee here, please?
Words,Phrases & Patterns
> give A to B ; A(人)に B(物)をあげる. 4形式動詞.
> purchase ; (公式的) 購入する. buy より 公式的, 会社の 購買部で よく使う.
普通名詞は 数える 加算名詞で 単数に a,an を つける,
複数に -sを つけて表す。 一つ, 二つ, 三つ数える時は one, two, threeを つけて
数えますが、
物質名詞(water, milk など)と 抽象名詞(advice, love...など 無形)は 数えない 不可算
名詞でone, two,threeをつけて 使えないので、どう数えますか？
例えば, 抽象名詞 advice は 不可算名詞で;
an advice, advices, two advices, three advices で 表現できない。
( 単数の an つけない, 複数の -s 付けない, two, three で数えない)
では, "一つの忠告" " 二つの 忠告", " 一杯のコーヒ", "コーヒ ２杯" は どう 表現すべきですか。次のように数えます。
1. 抽象名詞
> a piece of advice,
> two pieces of advice ( 後ろに adviceに -s つけて advicesにしない)
2. 物質名詞
- tea, milk, wine,waterは 液体で,容器に入れて使うので, 容器名前を 使う.
> a cup of tea
> a glass of milk ; two glasses of milk
> a bottle of wine ; two bottles of wine
> two cups of tea (後ろのtea を teasにしない )
> two glasses of milk (後ろの milkを milks にしない)
> two bottles of wine (後ろの wineを wines にしない)
- bread, cheese 塊で 刀で 切って 一つ片, 二つ片で表現
> a slice of bread
> a slice of cheese
- paper も 物質名詞で 一枚で表現
> a piece of paper
> a sheet of paper
- furniture(家具), baggage(荷物) 不可算名詞の 集合名詞と言う.
> a piece of furniture
> two pieces of baggage
例文で;
1番 bookは 加算名詞で, 複数なのでtwo books.
2,3番 adviceは 抽象名詞で a piece of advice, two pieces of advice.
4番 coffeeは 物質名詞で more cups of coffee
注意; more cups of coffee で coffee を coffeesにしない.
日本語で; いまから, 英語文でこのような 表現をみると 理解できますようね!
例えば;
(a) Can I have a cup of coffee please?
(b) Help me with my two pieces of baggage, it is too heavy!
