Words,Phrases & Patterns
> priest ; 聖職者
> care for; 面倒を見る、世話をする
> care for; 面倒を見る、世話をする
> developing ; 開発途上の、 developing country 開発途上国。
ここで a number of は (数字が) いくつ（=several) の 意味です。
数量の 多い 少ない を 表す時は
a small number of...( 小数の..... )
a large number of....( 多数の....)
注意する事は The number of...は このような 数 大小 と関係なく、
" ...番号, ..件数 "の 意味なので よく 区別して 使ってください。
日本語で, いくつの..., 小数の..., 多数の.... と 言いたい 時は
a number of, a small number of..., a large number of..を使う,
部屋/カードの番号, 事件件数 などを 言う時は The number of....
を 使ってください。
例えば,
a. There are a large number of books in his study.( 彼の 書在には本が多い )
b. A number of problems have arisen. ( いくつかの 問題が 生じた )
c. The number of his room is 1008.( 彼の 部屋 番号は 1008 )
d. The number of crimes in the urban districts...( 都心地域での 犯罪件数...)
